Hello Lovelies!! I know I’ve been gone for awhile, so I’m writing to say, “I’m Still Here”!! At the end of last year, I went through some hard times, with the death of two family members and some other unforeseen things. BUT, as we all know, everyone has hard times, whether you decide to go “Through” them it is what matters, or will you setup shop in that dark/hard place. Imma “SOLDIER”, so I came out!! God is still Good and He has so much for me to accomplish.

There’s nothing like being in the presence of a Real Man. Even if you’re not in a relationship with that man, it just make me (as a woman) appreciate the fact that there are still good men out there that know how to treat a woman. The other day on Boris Kodjoe’s twitter feed, he posted this. Enjoy ladies…Men take notes!!

- Embrace your imperfections

- Laugh at yourself. A woman likes a man who doesn’t take himself too serious.

- Fix or build something with your hands. It’ll show her that you are capable of taking care of a home.

- Know how to cook and clean. It’ll show her that you don’t need her but that you WANT her.

- Get your passport and travel. A man needs to see the world.

- Communicate without cursing. You don’t need to curse to make a point. Cursing shows lack of substance.

- In bed, take care of your woman first. When she’s satisfied you are DA MAN!!!

- Stay in shape. It’ll show her that you care about yourself and therefore are able to care about her.

- Take care of your responsibilities. Anything less is unacceptable. A boy is irresponsible, not a man.

- Open her door and pull out her chair. It shows her that you honor traditional values. Trust me, she will do the same.

- Be present! Take her in with your eyes and ears. Your attention will make her feel loved and she won’t ever nag you.

- Read a f—ing book! (Sorry, violation of ‘no cursing’ rule) But seriously, ignorance is a major turn-off. Book on tape will do.

- Have an ambition. You don’t need to be rich but you need to show direction and motivation. Keep a job!

- Last one for today: Treat a woman the way you would want your daughter to be treated. Anything less is unacceptable.”

Ladies don’t settle for the FOOLISHNESS some men try to give you…What you compromise to get, you will have to compromise to keep (in a negative way). There are still good guys out there. Thanks Boris for sharing and being an example!!

I know the best relationships start off  in friendship. And I know this is an essential key for a Great relationship. But what if the friendship has lasted more than half your life?  You value it so much that you’re a little apprehensive to take it to the next level…so much to lose, yet so much to gain.

Here’s my take on this, you both have to be honest with each other. If you really love this person and want to be more than friends, there must be open communication to make this transition smooth, not bumpy/messy. Sometimes if your feelings are so strong for this person and you don’t express them appropriately, a situation may trigger  them to be expressed in a destructive manner.

I believe relationships that start like this are Beautiful. You already know each other, love, care and respect each other, because if you didn’t you wouldn’t have been friends for the time that you have. Don’t force it, just let it flow. And don’t fear the unknown, because if you think about it, there are less unknowns with this person, than someone you meet off the street. Enjoy getting to know your friend on a whole new level. Relax, there will always be “What if’s”!!

“Thumbs up” to relationships/love that last a lifetime…Yay!! Lol!! I believe it will be worth it! Life is too short to have, Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ves.
